Hatteras Creature...Dancing Squid
The Hatteras Creature was born a year ago when I went to Hatteras to fish the Hatteras Village Offshore Open. I took some one of a kind squid down there to use in the tournament. We had a fish grab it, but never hooked up. We had double hook set stiff rigs and also ran a daisy chain ahead of the big squid on occasion. I left the squid on the boat and gave another one to a captain that I am friends with. I wasn't more than a week or so later that I get a call telling me they caught a blue marlin on that squid. They tweaked it some to act the way they wanted it to and the result was a landed blue marlin. The final product...The Hatteras Creature...Dancing Squid is the original squid that I brought down there, incorporating their tweaks and adding some finishing touches. It is the only lure like it, and you can't get it anywhere but here...yet :) I will say up front that the Hatteras Creature is not the type of lure that the normal, everyday weekend warrior would have in his spread. It is not cheap, but relative to other big lures it is a bargain. All the components are the best that money can buy, as you will see in the list below. It is available in 4 colors, and is rigged with either 400 lb. Momoi XHARD for bluefin or Momoi 530 XHARD for marlin. This lure is 15 feet long by design...reel the ring and grommet  to the rod tip with the rod lowered, raise the rod tip and the marlin is within striking range. This is one of the things I learned from the guys that make serious money tournament fishing...so I have incorporated it into the final design. Note: This can be adjusted at the time of the order so if you want a longer line, let me know then.
