Bluefin Bite off Hatteras

There is a good bluefin bite happening off Hatteras as we speak. Fish to 60" are being taken in decent numbers. Sound familiar? They are also getting some yellowfin and a few wahoo. It will be interesting to see what shows up off Chatham this year. How big will those 60" fish from last fall be this year?

Here in RI we are preparing for the trout season opening on the second Sat. in April. The significance of that date is the usual arrival of school stripers on the RI coast. If they stay on schedule we should see them in good numbers at Tom Shoal on Martha's Vineyard by Memorial Day. Let's hope the 60" bluefin bite off Hatteras are our Chatham fish on there way back up the coast. They have arrived in mid June the last few years.
